How to Change Gate.io Referral

Important: Gate.io referral change is NOT possible!

Unlike other exchanges, Gate.io does not allow changing referral codes after registration. To receive payback benefits, you must create a new account.

Solution:

  • β€’ Create a new account with DSL Capital referral link
  • β€’ Transfer assets from your old account to the new account
Tip: The easiest method is to sign up with a new email and different ID (e.g., passport, driver's license).

Request KYC Cancellation

Gate.io KYC is not automatically released. You must request cancellation through customer support.

  1. Log in to Gate.io
  2. Click the profile icon (top left) β†’ Click the customer support icon/headset (top right)
  3. Click 'Identity Center (KYC)'
  4. Submit a customer center ticket
  5. Inquiry type: Account issue β†’ Write 'KYC cancellation request'

Close Account (Account Deletion)

After KYC is released, proceed with account deletion.

Checklist before account deletion:

  • β€’ Complete all asset withdrawals
  • β€’ Backup transaction history
  • β€’ Disable 2FA, API, and email verification
  1. Log in to Gate.io
  2. Go to top right [Settings] β†’ Scroll down
  3. Click [Close Account]
  4. Enter password and complete verification
